Background: just getting back into the gym after about 7 weeks off, all my lifts are flying up. There is what I am guessing to be a tendon at the bottom of my left bicep which is giving a bit of discomfort. Here is a picture illustrating where the discomfort originates (excellent paint skills): http://i.imgur.com/UCaWr.jpg
It's never a really sharp pain, but pulling movements cause it to "ache" or be a dull pain, for want of a better word. Also, heavy pushes or supporting my bodyweight on my left arm also causes discomfort. I'm icing it as of today about 4 times/day and intend not to do any direct bicep work at all.
Should I completely cease doing all pulling movements (chins, rows etc) and just focus on deadlifts? Also should I stop heavy bench as well? Would wrapping my arm help? I'm guessing if it's tendons, NSAID's are counter productive?
I am not looking for a medical diagnosis, but I'm hoping someone here recognises these symptoms and can give advice. Thanks.
