Did you make the mistake of neglecting the big compound lifts when you first started lifting?
Post Body

Just wondering what peoples experiences are when starting out lifting & going from a volume based bodybuilding routine back to a strength orientated routine?

For instance you see a lot of people jump straight in to something like a PPL routine doing s**t loads of isolation exercises & neglecting to get strong on the big compound lifts. I myself are guilty of this. After over a year of training trying PHAT & PPL then realising I need to get stronger on the compound lifts instead of spending hours on accessories, I am going to switch to a 4 day routine to get my 4 big compound lifts up. Probably something like 5/3/1 BBB.

Did you find that you made more gains when you switched back to a strength routine maybe with a few bodybuilding type accessories after the main lifts?
