Would you start adding weight to pull ups when on a cut?

I have lost 28lb over 4 months & my body weight pull up count has gone from 3x5 to 3x13 over that period but i am guessing that's to do with my weight loss & not actual increase in strength. I was planning on adding another set & doing 4x12 twice per week & wait until I have finished my cut to start adding weight. What do you guys think? Start adding weight while I am still in a deficit or wait until I am back in a surplus which will be in about 4 weeks?
