Some questions on cutting & glycogen.
Post Body

When would a carb re-feed be necessary & would it be at maintenance or still at a deficit? think is a pretty good steady rate? I basically bulked too quick & I want to get rid of the fat so I can do a controlled lean bulk next time & keep my body fat at a steady %. I am doing the Reddit PPL & the only lifts that have suffered are my bench & seated DB press. My accessory work like curls & tricep work are still increasing whether it's by adding weight or reps.

  • How long does it take for glycogen to return to normal once the cut has ended?
  • Is there any point increasing the volume on accessory work like curls, tricep push downs to chase the pump when there's little chance of muscle growth in a deficit?
  • Is taking body measurements on a cut pointless due to the Glycogen depletion? Will you get false measurements?
  • When would a carb refeed be necessary & would it be at maintenance or still at a deficit?
  • Will my lifts such as bench return to my pre cutting weights pretty fast or will It be a case of working back up in the normal way?
  • Any tips on how to keep going? I am constantly looking in the mirror to see if I can see muscle loss & If I can, I keep considering quitting the cut & bulking again. Guess this is how people spin their wheels?

One thing I can say from this experience is that I will never bulk so fast again & listen to people who suggest that you have to eat eat eat. At 39 if I eat eat eat I get fat fat fat!
