I'm pretty new to lifting, and a problem I've had over the past few months is finding it impossible to 'feel' ANY back muscles (especially lats) and pecs. I can't flex/ tense them, and when I do exercises I try my hardest to perfect the form and focus on the muscle I'm using, but I usually just end up feeling a lot of fatigue in my arms.
eg pullup, even with a wide grip, pulling my elbows towards my sides I feel everything on my biceps.
even when doing pushups and bench press where if anything I should feel it on my TRICEPS, I still feel most of the strain/ pump/ pain after on my biceps or the crease of my elbow.
Is it because there is so little muscle that there is nothing to tense at the moment? I know for sure that my arms are not weaker than my chest because I had a chest operation and could do 0 chest workout for the longest time, so my arms are much more built than my chest.
I focus more on form than weight at the moment and sometimes have people I know in the gym there to check that I'm doing exersizes correctly, but I still don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I'm just concerned that by lacking this mind-muscle connection means I am not working out the main muscles and putting all the work on my arms.
