Trouble going up in weight between sets.

Hello all,

I've recently started lifting and I have noticed some muscle gain here and there, but there's one problem I'm having that I don't quite understand.

Sometimes I can hit 10 or 12 reps on a certain weight, then for the next set I will go up one notch, but will struggle mighty doing like 8 reps. Obviously, it gets harder going up, but that seems like a big drop off.

Exercises this happens in most are barbell bench, military press, overhead press, and bicep curls.

Easily being able to do the first weight leads me to believe that it isn't a form problem, but I've never actually asked someone to judge my form.

If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
