Just got my first cheapie baitcaster to try out before I invest in anything more expensive (Abu Garcia Gen Ike, from princessauto) It has the REVO 4 reel on it
Came spooled with 10lb mono, and thats fine, but I wanted to put 8lb braid on it.
I tied on the braid with an arbor knot, and started spooling very slowly and tightly. Everything looked fantastic until the very end, when it seemed to become knotted within itself -- I assume slippage somehow. Had to slowly and annoyingly unspool off the reel.
Any advice here? I'm reading something about electrical tape backing?
