Are some brands of baitcaster more prone to backlash?

So I have two baitcasters, a Daiwa Fuego and a Lew's Classic Pro. I seem to be using the Lew's more often because the Daiwa is more frequently a backlashed mess... In fact, it seems that I'm twice as likely to backlash my Daiwa then my Lew's.
Is there anything to this? Have y'all noticed anything similar?
