This may get me some heat but here it is.. bass fishermen..

There’s this bizarre culture around bass in the us and I see it a lot on bass channels on ytube. Shit handling of the fish, striking way to hard for the size of fish. It’s not necessary and when you put your whole body weight into a strike on a 5-10lbs fish you look like an absolute twat and can damage the fish (I’ve seen yanks in comment sections boasting about ripping lips n it being a good session). Flipping a fish onto the bank and dragging it up shore when they intend to release it. Fishing stocked ponds like it requires skill, if it wobbles a bit the bass will probably smash it. EDIT: thanks everyone for the helpful info! I understand both points of view around the striking now and when it’s required. The bad fish handling is still something I don’t agree with.
