So we are in the process of buying a condo
When we first viewed the property and all of the listing details advertised the condo as having two parking spaces in a tandem configuration.
When I reviewed the title I noticed that there were an additional two parking spaces deeded to the unit. When I inquired about it the seller said those were not his and belonged to another unit. The owner of the other unit was able to produce titles that show the developer granted/sold him those other two spaces.
The problem is one of the parking spaces was granted to the other unit after the original owner purchased the condo we are buying. So the developer really had no right to sell the parking space to the other unit.
I brought this up to the title company and they investigated. They are having the owner of the condo we are buying sign a quit claim releasing any claim to either parking space and updating the title.
Did I screw up by bringing it to everyone's attention. Should I have just waited till we owned the condo and then filed a lawsuit to get the the other spot.
I went into this deal only thinking I had one parking spot. But 3 would obviously be better
