Moving Back Home to Save Money?
Post Body

Hi! I (32F) am currently renting and would like to buy a house! My parents offered to let me move back home for free to save money. I’m thinking if I do this for 6 - 8 months I should be able to save $20k - $30k, especially since my car is paid off. My parents said they have lots of friends whose kids did this, and I have a friend who her and her husband did the same thing. They lived at her mom and dad’s house for two years while they saved for a house, and now they’re in one.

I’ve gotten used to being on my own, so I’m not looking forward to this, but I have a great relationship with my parents and know this makes the most sense. I’m willing to give up my own space for a few months for the opportunity to save for a house.

Has anyone else done this? If so, what has your experience been like?

Thanks!
