Spending Guidance during Home Buying Phase

Hello all,

I need some guidance on spending during the home buying time frame.

I am unexpectedly (landlord selling house we rent) buying a house in the next few months with my BF. Hopefully, we would buy the house we currently rent and would close by end of August/Early Sept. If not, we could be pushing it out a month or so longer.

We have been pre-approved by a mortgage broker for the amount we requested. We would likely be putting in an offer onto this house sometime next week.

Right before we were told the place was going to be sold, we started booking a vacation for end of Oct. We had planned to pay 1/2 of it in July (which we did) and 1/2 in August. I am wondering if a credit card charge for $1500 would cause an issue with the closing process.

My current credit usage is 1% (I use them for everything and pay in full every month) on Credit Karma, but the balance is about $700 out of $31,100 credit available. I don't want to risk the mortgage approval, but the host of hotels & what not are rising as we get closer to the trip.

Will this 1x charge be an issue?

Thank you!
