Issue with gas fireplace condensation and rusting inside. This fireplace is a year old and direct vents outside about a foot. It is constantly condensating due to the humidity recently in Ohio. This is causing some rust spots on the black metal around the back. Any suggestions?

We recently had a pro come in and after finding some rust in the unit tell us that although there wasn't much rust showing the fact that there was any rust at all was reason enough to recommend against using the gas fireplace. He said that was a conservative recommendation by the AAP (I think?) but it was still a recommendation nonetheless. Discouraging to say the least.
