Tips on confidence for probationary year.

Post Body

I need some advice when it comes to building up confidence for my rookie year. I’ve found it hard to try and talk to the guys and get to know them, like I’m nervous to talk to them. I’ve also noticed since I’ve started I’ve been a lot more on edge and nervous about messing up, which has led to me messing up a couple of times. I want to be the best I can be for this department but it feels like it’s chipping away at my confidence. I recently took my class b exempt test and got to drive one of our chiefs around town after the fact. He mentioned that he’s heard some things that are not pleasing to him (did not clarify) and that the guys don’t really know me that well. I want to do everything in my power to get over this anxiety and nervousness so I can be successful. Any tips?
