I have a remington 870 and I really do with that I could have a benilli M4, but I think that (on paper) a TS12 could have a lot of potential for off-grid alaska living. You could have a tube of bear slugs, a tube of buckshot, and a tube of birdshot.
Bear Slug - Bear defense (duh)
Buckshot - self defense
Birdshot - Small game or bird hunting
I would also have either my Savage 110 in 338 win mag or my Taurus Raging Hunter in 460 S&W Mag for medium to large game hunting, but that's a personal choice.
Context Edit:I my main weapons are as follows: Savage 110 (448 win mag), Taurus Raging Hunter (460 S&W Mag), PTR 91 (308 win) and my Remington 870 (12 gauge).
EDIT: Thanks to all of you in the comments and some critical thinking, I have come to the conclusion that the Tavor TS12 is NOT the best shotgun for off-grid.
