Just got a firestick

Hi, i just bought the 4k firestick from Prime day. I am not sure what to use this for as it doesn’t seem that different from the sky system i already have. I have a skyQ box but not subscribed to any of the sports or cinema packages. How would i be able to watch United preseason for example on the firestick and other sports games. Is there a way i can stream these games for free on the firestick?
