Is anyone else disappointed by the new Eirika?
Post Body

Firstly, this new Eirika is not a Brave variant, as all Brave characters have Brave in their title. Frankly, I can see this new Eirika killing her chances for even getting a Brave version now due to getting another version and by the off chance she does win, people are going to be upset we're getting a third iteration of her.

Even ignoring the lore disconnect (Eirika learning dark magic? Really?), honestly I found this new Eirika extremely disconcerting. As Sacred Stones is one of my favourite Fire Emblems, this new banner is borderline insulting. Not every character needs to be a flashy new 'waifu', there's no need for an all-female banner. What about Knoll? Gerick? Neimi? Ross? Cormag? Duesell? Syrene? There's a plethora of characters that can help show Sacred Stones representation.

Heck, even Marissa. I was actually looking forward to her inclusion, however being gated behind time-limited content and having limited merges will only hurt her in the long run.

But even despite all that, we're way too early in the games life cycle to be recycling characters. Yes, I expect us to get new versions of Chrom, Lucina and the like rather than trying to fix the current iterations, however there are over hundreds of characters that are still waiting to be included and with the new cycle of only three units per banner, inclusion slots are becoming more and more scarce and thus the competition to be added into the game is high. We don't need these slots used on gratuitous variants of popular characters, not yet at least.
