Post Body

All these salty posts are understandable. Intelligence Systems has been a kind developer. They've showered us with gifts, very much unlike many of their contemporaries. But let's not kid ourselves, we know the company they keep. Fire Emblem Heroes is and has always been a mobile game. This recent banner is no different from stunts pulled in many other games, by that I mean new units being incredibly elusive and useful in upcoming competitive content (DoT, rage of bahamut, and brave frontier have done this in raid battles or some other form). The Tempest Trials event format lends itself to this release strategy. Games like FGO and Brave Frontier have employed this predatory gacha scheme many times over. I can only assume that releasing units like this is far more prevalent over in the East, where waifu war games have been sugoi-ing players out of their Yen for over a decade (and who would have thought? Ayra is both incredibly kawaii and comes from a game only released in good ol Nippon!). Of course, there is serious reason to be angry about this banner, its proximity to Sigurd's banner and the fact that Ayra shares a red orb focus spot with worse-Sigurd to name a few (plus most of the English player base hasn't been Pavloved into accepting this garbage), but don't act like this kind of shit isn't to be expected in this genre. Seasonal Units, limited banners, and bait banners have already proven that FEH isn't immune to the bullshit that persists in this bloated medium, and the Regnal Astra Catastrophe of 2017 confirms this.
