Kana is one of my favorite FE characters simply because he’s an adorable (death machine) bean, so I was happy to be able to 10 him. His base kit stone isn’t a PRF but is still quite strong IMO since it offers true DR, NFU, and Spectrum 4. Its lack of slaying even comes in handy for this build.

Weapon: Dragon’s Stone. May not be a PRF, but his stats were made to work around it. NFU is amazing defensively, not to mention true DR.

Assist: The basic one

Special: Dragon’s Roar. Finally, a decent 500 SP special for dragons! It deals damage based on his high res stat and gives him some DR, so it’s perfect. Not to mention it has just enough cost to work with his B slot.

A slot: D/R Scowl 4. It boosts his defensive stats and allows him to push back enemy specials from activating, so it’s perfect for the build.

B slot: Laguz Friend 4. The bread and butter. Kana gets even more true DR based on his Res stat, -2 to Dragon Roar if the enemy attacks, extra Res based damage for Dragon’s Roar, and doesn’t lose out on much % based DR.

C slot: Time’s Pulse 4. Before this was Speed Smoke 4, but that doesn’t have good synergy with Laguz Friend. TP4 makes it so that Kana’s special count is at 2 before combat begins, meaning he can counter with Dragon’s Roar consistently in Enemy Phase.

S slot: Dragon DC. It would be a shame to waste his enemy phase potential solely on melee units!

X slot: Guard Echo. Guard is very solid defensively and has good synergy with Scowl, making it so an enemy without Tempo won’t be able to activate their special on Kana in the event of a follow-up attack.
