Living in one of the highest cost of living cities feels like a struggle. 39/36 couple with 2 kids. They have great lives. Extra curricular activities. Summer camp. Lots of travel. We earn decent incomes. Net worth hovers around $1m but that includes 400k of equity on our apartment on the conservative end and I know that shouldn’t be counted for FIRE
Feels like it’s hard to save enough to retire at 50 without limiting the kids childhood
Moving is out of the equation as all our family is here and they play a huge role in the kids life.
Thanks for letting me vent. All suggestions are welcome.
