I am a recently retired 53 FIRE whose wife still works and I have around $2.4m in non-retirement accounts and around $2m in 401k I won’t touch until I’m 60.
I want to keep around $250k in cash reserves just in case and then invest the rest in Vanguard total stock and bond index funds. If I do this, how do I distribute say just the money I need monthly (say $3500 p/m)? I can direct all dividends to my savings account but what if the dividends don’t cover the $3500 amount?
May be a silly question, not sure how to distribute $ to help live on from these funds until I’m 60.
