Help with female zebra finch plucking male feathers
Post Body

Hi! So I need help with this... I had a couple of zebra finches, they were great together and you could really tell they loved each other. Unfortunately, the female got stuck in the water recipient and died. Two days after I went to get another female to keep my male finch company. These two are not great together. The female is constantly harassing the male, who's very submissive towards her. She already laid eggs but after she had them all in the nest she just abandoned it. I don't even think they were fertilized. My main problem is that she's constantly plucking the male feathers around the neck and on his back, so much that he's completely nude bellow his wings. And he's starting to get skinny because whenever he tries to eat she will shove him out. I'm kind of lost on what to do... Should I try and get each other different partners? Or get a bigger cage so that I can have a group of them? My boy is so sad I just want him to feel better ...
