Do I need a degree to get a job in finance?
Post Body

I am working towards my degree in economics with a minor in finance, but the further along I get into school, the less I want to attend college. I am frustrated with taking random courses that do not serve an purpose or relevance towards my desired career. It appears that there are certifications I can get online that pertain particularly to finance and the job field I wish to enter.

Is it realistic to assume that if I get these certifications and study these alternative courses online that I can still get a job in finance without having to complete my degree?

Edit: Thanks everyone for your input. To clarify I am not looking for handouts or easy ways into the world of finance. I am just looking for alternative options I can pursue to get into smaller positions before completing my degree and moving on to larger positions.

The answer to my question is that I need to deal with the bullshit classes and get my degree before I can apply to anything finance related.
