Howdy. I just started a new position in a midsized city as a complaint manager for a brokerage firm. The pay is great and being off the phone is even better. The only downside is that at first it is a contract position, but with a little work anything is possible.
I currently have my 7 and 66, know Python, need to work on learning sql a tad bit better (but have used it a little), and really need to practice excel. Previously I worked in a call center making trades and helping people with their accounts, but the complaint manager position appeared so it seemed to work out perfectly. Now I have been scotuing out other financial hubs but it seems like the pay is low overall and currently covid has reduced the numbered of jobs, especially considering I make 71k for a lcol area. I am not sure whether to grind it out here and maybe get a cfa, and open a ria, or try and move to a larger financial center and get a better position. I also have BBA with a minor in marketing from a small business school, but with a shit gpa. What options do I have with this if any? I am currently in my mid 20s. I also have my own place and I have logged some decent gains in my portfolio (but these days with Robinhooders that seems like nothing).
