Bonus season comes shortly after the new year (mid-February) at my job, but I am recently getting hits for jobs I applied to a few months ago. With the holidays approaching, interviews will likely be in early January. If I end up getting any potential offers, this would likely put me in a spot to quit my current job just before year end bonuses are paid out.
I work in AM, so bonuses (20k last year) are not something to just skip out on as it is a large part of my annual comp. I know the new potential job will come with a fairly good pay raise (just finished my MBA), but I will likely be forfeiting my bonus if I need to start before the bonus pays out. I obviously wouldn’t want to pass on a job just to get my year end bonus, So do I just suck it up? Should I make this known with a potential employer? Any insight or shared experience is appreciated!
