Can the CFA Help a Journalist Transition to a Finance Career?

Post Body

I’m a 36-year-old journalist based in London, UK, with a comprehensive career and academic background in journalism. My experience spans publications, radio, TV production, and digital media, having worked in the field since 2007. Despite not having any financial background, I’m considering a career shift to finance.

I’ve read numerous reviews suggesting that the CFA can facilitate this transition. I’m planning to take Level 1 next May. Can anyone share how helpful the CFA is for making a career shift into finance?

I appreciate any advice you can provide.

What makes you think you’ll pass even the first stage of the CFA, let alone all three? You think you’ll just waltz right in? Additionally, you have to work in finance for around four years years before you are designated a CFA.

I should really leave this sub.
