Hello all,
I’m currently working on a BS on Finance and a BA on Economics. I already have a BA in Political Science.
My question is should I continue what I’m doing or just finish the requirements to apply to a MAcc program.
I need a like 3 courses to finish off the requirements but I have completed 64% of the Finance and Economics degree according to my degree plan.
I’m currently rushing through it as I’m taking summer courses my I have completed 64% due to me having an associates on economics so most of the credits passed on.
My school is not a target school but it’s part of the UT system (UTRGV) as far as careers I’d like to be some sort of credit, risk or budget analyst would be my top career choices.
If I go the MAcc route i would probably look into public accounting and progress from there. If i continue my current route I would consider pursuing a Masters in data analytics or a MBA.
My school also offers free courses through a coursera should I look into any certifications? I plan on learning SQL on coursera once I finish my summer courses and can plan my schedules accordingly.
My school is not as expensive as others and is my only choice considering that it’s near my home and job.
If possible could I get some insight on what I should be doing to network, and what kind of part-time jobs should I be applying during school.
Thank you.
