Hello all,
So a bit ago I posted my backstory. I was an accountant for 5 years, quit to get a masters in comp sci, and wanna go back to finance due to just how insanely volatile the tech job market is. I don’t care about prestige of big tech companies or anything my only real goal in life is a 6 figure job and work life balance. SWE seemed like the best way to reach that goal but at least for the next couple years that dream is likely dead as the tech world reels from horrible investments the past 15 or so years.
I asked before about which finance jobs could use someone who is a skilled programmer, and I got a lot of responses. But now I wanna hear about which of those jobs aren’t gonna have me working 80 hour weeks. Obviously like things that require occasional overtime is fine but I would like to do various side passion projects and that would be unlikely if the work load at my day job is insane.
Some of the suggestions I got were:
- Quant
- Credit Risk Analyst
- Data analytics
- Data engineer
- CCAR
- ALM
If anyone works in these and can tell me about the working conditions, or if they can tell me any other suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated
