How to improve Junction and Draw System in a Remake

Final Fantasy VIII Remake is the game I want most more than anything and with the fun of FF8 being a time loop story you can always play it in so many different ways and as such the story can be expanded and reimagined in different ways as well to learn more about our amazing cast.

But today I want to discuss the Junction System. We all agree it's easily exploitable and insane the amount of things you can do to break the game entirely which is fun on repeat playthroughs not gonna lie when I just want to enjoy the story but how can we reimagine the Junction system in a Remake to make it both interesting, fresh, but at the same time familiar for our Nostalgia factors.

First up is the Draw System. Para-Magic is FF8 is basically using artificial magic because true magic is limited to those who posses the Sorceress power. One of the grindiest factors early game is stocking magic for Junction. So my first proposal for Stocking Magic in 8 is two fold. A one and done deal. You Draw Fire from say...Beul and you have unlimited casts of Fire as long as it's Stocked.

Next up is the Stock system which is basically our magic menu in the original system. Automatically in the original gam we could hold up to 32 different Spells maximum per character. I'd like to retain this but instead of being able to hold the maximum off the bat it's limited based on GF's Equipped. So some GF's might grant more Stock slots then others like say Shiva gives 5 Stock Slots because she's a more Magic Focused GF while Quetzacoatl gives 4 being the average and Ifrit only give 3 because he's more physical focused. This forces us to focus on what GF's party members will have equipped. Affect the amount of different spells they can cast and even affect what their Junction Focuses will be.

Next is the Junction System itself which also ties in with Guardian Forces themselves. I think with Junctioning GF each party member should be limited to maximum of three different Guardian Forces. 8 was famous for us needing to use all the party in certain scenarios outside of endgame where you often just had your preferred Two Squall but it did had moments where the party was split up and forced to play both separated parties. I think it's important for that to be retained but also like 7 Remake gives us these moments to utilize every party member in battle and get a feel and enjoyment for each ones unique fighting style. With the Junction system reimagined I feel the focus on how you build your characters becomes more predominant and encourages experimentation. Still the opportunity to break the game with the characters lol but in a different way. So with the Stock and Draw system you'll have a limited collection of Magic to work with but I think each magic you Draw retains it's Junctioning Stats as if you had 100 Copies of it. So Fire for example would give 100 HP or 10 Strength, or 50% Elemental Attack or Defense, or another spell like...Esuna gives 20% All Resistance to Status Ailments or 500 HP or 36 Spirit.

So Yeah that's my idea for how to redesign the Junction System if 8 was ever given the Remake Treatment. Tell me your thoughts, ideas on what you'd change or maybe even expand on this. I think what gets the ball rolling on 8 Remake is us discussing these things openly.
