I thought it was a way of faking illness to avoid doing dangerous things, like how Watts says "gathering intelligence is my specialty..", but its more consistent than that. He does it at the end of the Timber visit and says, "I'll just stay in the bathroom.."
I figured this would end with giving him a "digestive remedy" or something, but it just goes kind of mysteriously. He ultimate wants a>! girl magazine!<, so that made it kind of more weird and puzzling. I feel like something may have got lost in translation.
