Does anyone else have my strange problem with Final Fantasy VIII?

It do a yearly replay of FF8 every year. The draw feature, the card-mod, and the card game are so fun to grind. That’s where the problem comes in. I almost never “finish” my replay anymore. I grind the cards, draw all the magic, and have my characters so OP so early, I lose interest late/mid-way through the game. I’ll pick it back up about 8-10 months later, decide to start over and do the same thing over again.
