I feel like in terms of final fantasy, when it comes to the protagonist. They're frequently always very brooding, socially awkward, really serious or just (not interested) type.

I feel we hardly get protagonist that are just simply kind hearted. At least when it comes to Mainlines. I really wish we would get a protagonist like Zack, Aerith or even Tifa. Rebirth is fresh in my mind so these people come to mind. I don't mind characters like Cloud, Clive, Squall or lightning at all but I feel like these character types make up the bulk of FF protagonist.

Do you guys like this type of character? Or you all prefer more serious protagonist while party members take up the role of being a do gooder, nice boy/girl?

We had charactera like tidus and zidane so it's not like we never had protagonist that are more chill and funny.

Edit: just to clarify. I understand Clive fits this bill but I think at the same time. Clive is too stoic. What I mean by this post is someone similar to Tidus, Zidane or Zack.
