Hey! So I just made a little video (linked at the end) about a short film that I shot last year. It's far from my first project, but I made it about a year after graduating from studying film. I graduated feeling super disenfranchised and put off. This film was the film that got the passion going for me again... even though it kinda sucks. We made it for a competition. It didn't get accepted, let alone win anything.

I guess it taught me an important lesson. Films don't have to be good to be worth making. It was really important to me, and that's what mattered the most.

That being said, it also taught me practical lessons about lighting, editing and sound that I wouldn't have learnt just by watching advice videos online. So even more value.

Long story short, you're not a filmmaker if you're not making films.

(also, I'm not sure exactly what flair to apply to this. If I've gotten it wrong, do let me know and I'll change it!)
