So I finally decided what the hell, I'll start a StaffMeUp profile — started putting in the past few years of credits, but I noticed that whenever you enter a title for a production, it automatically links it to a page of what it assumes that production to be. There's no drop down list of productions with the same title you're presented with, as with IMDB, it just picks one for you. In my case at least, 2/3rds of those links are wrong. It doesn't even seem to pay attention to the dates entered: I listed a film I worked on in 2018 and it linked it to a film released in 1992!
Does anyone know how to correct the erroneous links? Does it matter? Is anyone paying attention?
When thinking about how this might appear to a potential employer, I feel like it comes across as sloppy at best and deceitful at worst. But I don't see a way of doing anything about it as a user. In a bunch of cases I see that my fellow crew members are also erroneously listed on these mismatched productions, so it seems to just be a widespread and accepted thing?
