Advice needed on inline frames for summer season
Post Body

Hi everyone,

hope you had/have a great weekend! Ice Skating season is coming to an end here (I have my last lesson next Sunday) and my club wants to offer group lessons on artistic inline skates, as well as a summer camp potentially. Before going to the skate shop, I have some questions I hope someone can answer here.

First, some general info:

I'm an adult beginner. I have my cross-overs (backwards can be a bit iffy on one side but works in general), I haven't yet gotten all my 3 turns (working on backwards inside and forward inside, haven't started backwards outside yet), I am spinning on two feet, trying out one foot spins and we started doing bunny hops). I'm 167cm and about 65kg (hoping to loose some though) and am currently in Edea Overtures for 2 seasons (1 hour lesson per week & some skating with friends at public hours) now (first one was cut short though due to the pandemic).

Recently, I had the feeling that towards the end of the lesson, my skates did not feel as secure as before, which could probably be due to my laces getting old (or rather, I'm 100% sure they are part of the problem given that I have never changed them since buying these shoes). However, my coach told me that the boots might be too soft for the long run (especially considering that I tend to twist my ankles in normal shoes due to them being a bit more flexible). She thinks the boots will be fine for summer training, but that I should get some with higher stiffness for next season. We will work mostly on moves & jumps (perhaps trying some singles), less on spins since she says that they are entirely different on inlines.

So I am now thinking about how to approach summer training:

Go to the skate shop and ask them to mount an inline frame on my current skates and get some new figure skates (probably tougher ones) next season as changing back would weaken the sole too much. I'm not sure though whether the summer camps will be on ice (I think so), so I might need some new boots earlier. Since they are still in the planning stage, no word on the costs got out yet (& when they'll take place), so I'm not sure I can even attend, so there's that.

I'm not sure if the un-mounting of the blades and the mounting of the inline frames is even possible like this, so if anyone has done this before, I'd love to hear some of your experiences. Also, I'm lost on the frames - the shop has the Snow Whites Speedmax and Roll*Line Linea II frames, so any advice on them would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, I'm looking for advice on what my next boots should be (or their stiffness level/rating), given that the skill levels of the boots are created with children, rather than adults, in mind. I do like my Edeas, but I've never tested other brands, so anything in the appropriate stiffness range I could look at would be nice to know! (I am definitely going to a fitter, I'm just curious what's out there that would be appropriate for adults on my skill level.)
