Whenever a new fighting game comes out, or a new character is released, subreddits and communities for those games seem to get flooded with "x character is OP", "I can't beat y character", "z character is unfair", etc. And they start insisting that those characters need to be nerfed.
Are they right? Maybe. Maybe not.
If a character is outright busted (exploitable infinites, bugged moves that win interactions they shouldnt, messed up hitboxes/hurtboxes, etc.) then obviously those need to be fixed ASAP. No arguments from me there.
But if everything is working as intended, and nothing is broken/bugged... then I wish people would just... wait.
Learn the game more. Learn the matchups. If, after some time has passed, the character(s) in question are still as strong as ever, noone can seem to find the answer, and they are constantly dominating Tournaments, then that may be an indicator that it's time for things to change.
But I feel like, more often than not, the answer to that character and their strengths is already in the game. All you need to do is learn the matchup and find that solution.
