Any ways to make a PS4 or Dualsense controller play better?

So currently, I dont have a fight stick (it broke and it'll be a while before I can get a new one), and I wanna continue practicing SF2ST on Fightcade, but I feel like I can never get the same sense of speed with control/accuracy on a typical gamepad like a PS4/XBOX controller like I can on a fight stick. It frustrates me because using the joystick, I never feel the same sense of input accuracy, and then on D-Pad, I can't move/react fast enough since my thumb gets tired. Any tips on what to do/software to make the joystick inputs more accurate?
