Can't exercise option to buy?

So I'm ending the first season of my West Ham career, and I'm getting hounded by emails reminding me about the option to buy Areola at the end of his loan, but when I go to the squad hub the only option is to terminate the loan.
I've created a backup save and gone ahead to the next season to see if that would solve it, but by that point he has gone back to PSG and his price is much higher than the option to buy. Anyone have a fix for this?
