Protecting feet from injuries?

Has anybody got any advice on what I can wear to help protect my feet during games? My feet seem to have become ball magnets during the offseason and most hockey shoes don’t seem near protective enough anymore, I’ve seen international players wearing something covering the laces but cannot find them anywhere. On another note has anyone tried using crease Guards as a sort of insertable steel toe cap?
