I have my blended rate and add travel. That's easy. Get a call from a buyer. I've gotten used to the thick accents: I'm from the south east US, so I know I am hard to understand at times. However: when you call me and are on a terrible speakerphone connection, I'm going to add $10 to the base. When you ask if I would do an hourly and less travel, I'm going to add $10. When you take my base rate, divide it out between the anticipated hours to completion and ask if I will take hourly, I'm going to add $20, because I just told you no. I have a reasonable fee, and and am underpriced on my mileage already. If you want a "pizza tech" that will take $25 (or less) an hour, just decline my counter or accept someone else. The list of "standard" tools most buyers list is expansive and overboard, at best. I have them loaded on my service vehicle, with few specialty or costly exceptions. My rate represents an investment I have made in my skills and equipment. It's beginning to be insulting when you try to nickel and dime us.
