I had a primary care doctor about ten years ago suggest the possibility of me having Fibro, but as a barely adult I really paid it no mind. Since then I’ve had many, many people (nurses, friends etc.) mention that it sounds like I might have fibromyalgia.

Recently I’ve started keeping a journal of symptoms I experience, and I’ve made an appointment with new my primary care doctor.

I’m a little nervous to bring this up, because I am in recovery from opiate addiction (four years sober) and am worried I won’t be taken seriously, as experience has shown me.

Could I hear how some of you have gotten your diagnosis? Should I tell my doctor I think I might have fibro, or should I show her my symptoms and see what she says?

Thank you very much!
