I've been really sick for the past few years, and every test that I have done to find something has found nothing. At this point... my doctor has pretty much concluded that I probably have fibromyalgia, or some other form of nociplastic pain.
I'm pretty much in constant worry that my body is deteoriating physically, but is that possible with fibromyalgia? I'm only 18, and I'm really hoping it's not since I'm so stressed if my body's tendons and joints are inflamed all the time, and therefore I'll be doomed in the long term with permanent damage done to my body.
However, can fibromyalgia do physical damage like that? It's hard to find people my age who have these pains as well, so I'm always afraid that my body is going to wither away sooner than normal like my peers, and I'll have the body of a 80 year old when I'm 40.
Or is it all harmless physically? If it is, that makes me feel reassured that my body will be okay. I can deal with the mental aspect of the pain at least if I know the pain won't permanently damage me physically. Sorry if this post seems irrational... I'm just really scared. I appreciate any help, thank you.
