I'm so excited. My rheumatologist referred me to the local hospice because they do intensive inpatient rehabilitation. I'll be doing physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and occupational therapy every day. They'll bring me all my meals and medication on time, so all I have to think about is recovery!
I've used this programme before and it's amazing. When I first developed fibro, it was really badly managed because I didn't know what was going on with my body. I ended up in a wheelchair because the pain was so severe. I went into that hospice in the wheelchair, and walked out on my own two feet three weeks later. They are incredible at what they do.
I am really excited to get to do this again and to recover.
If any of you can get referred to inpatient rheumatology treatment, I highly recommend you ask for it. Or even if you have access to a hydrotherapy pool. The water is heated to body temperature so it's much easier to exercise and it doesn't cause muscle tension.
Wish me luck!
