I have a submucosal fibroid that’s giving me hell. My gyno is scheduling a myomectomy to remove it but wants to do a Lupron shot to “increase chances of a successful surgery” by shrinking it first. I’m really scared to do that because I have pretty severe mental health problems and it seems like the side effects are awful. I’m scared that I won’t do it, and the surgery will go poorly and they’ll have to do an emergency hysterectomy. I need advice on what to do :(
I had similar concerns. The doc gave me the lupron shot and put me on HRT. It hasn't been a wonderful experience but with the HRT, I have been hanging in there.
However, the lupron didn't work. Doing this is rolling the dice, so you have to recognize the risk and possible reward and weigh all that out for yourself.
