• Diagnosed with several small fibroids, more than 12, each the size of a grape or smaller.
• First obgyn prescribed BCP and suggested fibroids might shrink during menopause, which was at least 10 years away for me.
• BCP made my periods even heavier and increased clotting.
• Got a second opinion from another obgyn who recommended a hysterectomy.
• Underwent a total hysterectomy on July 31st, leaving both ovaries intact.
• Discharged from the hospital by noon on the same day as the surgery.
• Currently 3 days post-op and
had no bleeding or discharge since the surgery, and minimal pain.
• Prior to the surgery, I endured severe heavy periods, golf ball-sized clots, and intense pain for a year and a half.
• Grateful that the worst part is behind me and looking forward to regaining my health and life.
