How long should a seller keep purchased item? Customer has disappeared after purchasing panties.

As sellers should we have a rule for X amount of time we keep a purchased item? I don’t mind having them stored since the service has been paid for. My concern is how long will my scent last on the panties, even though they are vacuum sealed don’t know how long the scent will last?
