This little guy (or gal) has been hanging out on my front lawn for a few weeks. We feed him every morning. It's come to the point when he's comfortable enough to approach us.
I plan on trapping the guy and taking him to the vet. I REALLY want to keep him. The trouble is my mother, who isn't an animal lover nor the best person. She makes an exception for my beagle. Plays with the dog while exposing her to second hand smoke.
The cat can stay in our backyard. He'll be fed and well taken care of. I'm just worried about how he'll fare during the colder months.
I can take him to a shelter but it's a kill shelter. The shelter is packed beyond capacity and they're basically begging people to adopt. It's likely that he'll be euthanized.
Any advice?
