Does anyone else get irrationally annoyed when people respond to your questions with shit you already know and didn't ask about?
Post Body

I don't want to call it mansplaining because while it is often men who do it, I don't actually think it's always connected to me being a woman. It happens a ton on anonymous forums where nobody knows anyone's gender. Also my sister and Mom do it, as do many of my aunts.

I just lose literally all patience with a conversation once I get the sense the other person has zero interest in understanding the exact nature of my questions. Is this selfish? Foolish? Idealistic? Am I just turning into a cantankerous old woman in my advanced years?

I usually feel zero guilt about noping out of these situations by just saying "forget it" because I have limited energy to spare, but I do wonder if it's more antisocial than I'd like to show myself to be. 😅

I welcome your thoughts!

Also please read this post a couple of times so you know exactly what I'm talking about before you respond. ;) ;)
