As an indian person assigned male at birth, who has been in relationships with indian women, some of which were born in india I have witnessed firsthand and secondhand so many ways the current society and culture has impacted women of all generations. I don’t know everyone’s feelings towards the 4B movement but I for one admire it and hope to see similar movements taking place around the world, India being one of those places. My culture and heritage is full of beautiful things, but the way women are treated is just one of the many manyy shining problems to take note of. So hypothetically speaking, if more feminists and women in India were able to collectively follow through on the 4B movement, what impacts do you think India would see? No country is perfect, and frankly a lot of people have very racist opinions on countries populated by mostly brown people, but realistically this is still a country where rape, kidnapping, and forced marriages are still very common. I still strongly believe with enough people working together change can happen it just takes time and perseverance. But am I wrong to feel this way? Is this really just a pipedream?
