I was excited when I stepped off the plane into the unfamiliar airport. Signs everywhere in a language I barely recognized pointed in all directions. I followed the rest of the passengers, my one backpack slung over my shoulder, to an area where greeting parties waited.

This was an exciting adventure for me. The agency I had planned this trip with had assured me that the family they had placed with me for my stay was fluent in English and would help me get acclimated to the strange customs of this land.

As I look around at the assembled greeting parties, my eyes finally land on a sign bearing my name: Steven Purchase. It's held by a woman who appears to be on her own. I wave, a friendly smile plastered across my face, as relief that someone from the family is actually here to pick me up and I don't have to try to navigate my way alone.

She acknowledges me and turns to leave without saying a word. I follow her out of the airport and to a parked van that she climbs into.

My idea for this prompt is my character gets taken in NY a family who either doesn't speak English or only speaks in another language around him. They're either working with the agency or lied to the agency to get him there. And now that he's there, he's trapped. There's no one he can explain himself to or communicate with to ask for help, so your character can make him do whatever you want, all while treating him as a fool for not understanding.

I would like for your character (or characters if you want to play a family) to be female and only include other female characters. If possible, never speaking English at all. Just teaching my character basic commands in another language. You don't have any patience for my character either. Even if it's a new command that he could not have known, you expect him to get it right the first time and get annoyed or exasperated when he doesn't.

I only speak English fluently and while I, as a writer, will probably Google translate everything your character(s) says, my character won't have that luxury. I am not picky about the setting, as long as it is somewhere where English is not the predominant language. It does not matter to me if you can actually speak another language. I probably won't be able to tell the difference if you Google translate everything as well.
